iPhone 6 用のバックライトとされる部品の写真が、中国版 Twitter とも呼ばれるウェイボーに投稿されました。

バックライトは液晶の照明です。液晶そのものは発光しないため、バックライトを光らせることで、液晶が表示している内容を見やすくします。

iPhone 6のタッチパネルは「TOD」方式になる？
iPhone 6 のタッチパネルは「インセル」ではなく「Touch On Display」方式になると、中国のニュースサイトが報じています。

Touch On Display 方式を採用することにより、従来よりもタッチ操作の反応が良くなったり、液晶の発色が改善されるとしています。
この方式は台湾の Innolux 社が開発したものですが、同社は iPhone 6 向けの液晶を製造するメーカーとしても噂に名前が挙がっています。
